More Information on How to Permit Calls on Other Devices from Your iPhone 13
There are a few caveats to using this feature once you have completed our how to allow calls on other devices iPhone 13 guide. The first thing you must consider is that when you want to allow calls on other devices, those devices will only enable Wi-Fi calling. They won’t be able to make iPhone cellular calls, even if they have cellular capabilities.
The second item to consider is that the other devices must be signed into the same Apple ID or iCloud account.
When you navigate to the “Calls on Other Devices” menu you are going to see all the devices that can receive calls or make calls. Each of these devices will have a toggle switch to the right of it where you can elect to give it explicit permission to use this feature.
Only Apple devices can take advantage of this feature. This means that other iOS devices like an iPod Touch, iPad, or even another iPhone may be listed on this screen for you to enable calls from iPhone.
The specific text on the iPhone screen says “Use your iPhone cellular account to make and receive call on devices signed into your iCloud account when they are nearby and on Wi-Fi.”
If you have an Apple Watch then you probably noticed that it doesn’t show up on the screen with the other devices that can take advantage of this feature. The Apple watch works a bit differently, as it serves more like an extension of the iPhone when it comes to answering phone calls.
You will notice that when you receive a phone call on your iPhone, there is a notification on the Apple Watch, where you can elect to decline or accept the call. This happens even if you haven’t given any devices permissions to make or receive your iPhone calls.
