Now that you have bold text on your iPhone, everything that you were previously having difficulty reading because it was too light should now be a little clearer.

If not, however, there are a few other things you can consider.

On the Display & Brightness menu where we found this bold text switch, there are some other items to adjust as well. These include:

  • Text Size – if you open this submenu you are going to see a slider at the bottom of the screen. If you move that slider to the left it will make your iPhone text smaller. If you move it to the right, it will make the iPhone text bigger.
  • View – this option lets you adjust the Display Zoom. There is a “Standard” option and a “Zoomed” option. If you are currently using the standard one you can try the zoomed one instead and see if that helps.

If you have tried all of these display settings and still don’t have a screen that is comfortable to view, then you can try going to the Accessibility menu. Here you will find things like:

  • Zoom
  • Display & Text Size
  • Motion
  • Spoken Content
  • Audio Descriptions

As well as a variety of other options that you can try out to see if they make the iPhone experience more enjoyable.

If you don’t want to change all of the text on your iPhone to bold text, but would rather select some of the text in an email or note, then you can do that, too. Simply tap and hold on to the text in those documents that you want to bold, then choose the BIU button in the black bar above the selection and choose the Bold option.
