How to Remove an Item from the Control Center on an iPhone 13

One of the most useful menus on your iPhone 13 is the Control Center.

You can open the Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen, which is going to display a gray menu on top of whatever you had been looking at.

On this menu, you can do things like enabling airplane mode, adjusting the screen brightness and volume, or even locking the phone into portrait orientation so that it doesn’t rotate.

But at the bottom of the menu are a number of other controls that are customizable.

You can add or remove Control Center icons on an iPhone by going to Settings > Control Center > then tapping the red or green buttons to remove or add items from the menu.

More Information on Editing the iPhone 13 Control Center

At the top of the Control Center menu is an option to “Access Within Apps.” When this is turned on you are able to swipe down from the top of the screen to access the menu even if you currently have an app open. When this setting is turned off then you will only be able to swipe down and open the Control Center when you are on the Home screen.

The steps above directed you to the Control Center menu in the Settings app where you were able to add and remove some of the items from the Control Center.

However, a lot of the icons in the Control Center can’t be removed.

For example, a common thing that people want to do is learn how to remove Screen Mirroring from the Control center on the iPhone. However, this is included among the default Control Center buttons that you can’t edit on that menu.

The only items that you can add or remove from the Control Center are the ones that are listed in the “Included Controls” and “More Controls” sections of the Control Center menu in the Settings app.

You can also tap the button to the right of Show Home Controls if you don’t want to see that icon, but that is the extent of your ability to edit the iPhone Control Center icons.
