If you have been experimenting with the different features on your iPhone then you might have created some favorite contacts.
This can be a useful mechanism when you want to make sure that calls, texts, or emails from specific people are easier to find.
But if you don’t think this is necessary or you don’t like the way it affects your notifications, then you can follow our tutorial to unfavorite someone on your iPhone 13.
How to Remove Contacts from Favorites on iPhone 13
- Open the Phone app.
- Select Favorites.
- Swipe left on the contact.
- Tap the Delete button.
Our guide continues below with additional information on removing someone as an iPhone contact, including pictures of these steps.
Creating contacts on your iPhone is a helpful way to be able to identify someone when you receive a text message or phone call from them. It removes the need to remember their phone number, plus you can store other contact information like addresses, emails, and more.
But some contacts like your family and friends may be more important than others to you, and you may want to prioritize text messages, emails, or other contacts from them.
One way to do this is to add them to your favorites.
But you may discover that this is creating too many additional notifications, or maybe someone’s status in your life has changed and you no longer want to include them as a favorite.
You can remove a contact as an iPhone favorite by opening the Phone app, touching Favorites, swiping left on the contact, then choosing Delete.
Now any communications from that person will be handled the same way as any other contact, instead of being starred.
Our tutorial continues below with additional discussion on using and editing iPhone favorites.
You can also mark numbers that you don’t want to call you at all. Our block iPhone contact guide can show you how.
