If you’ve ever wanted to save anything on your iPhone 13 screen for later or share it with a friend, understanding how to capture a screenshot can come in handy.
A screenshot on an iPhone works similarly to a screenshot on a Windows or Mac computer, albeit if you’ve never used it before, you may be unfamiliar with the iOS screenshot approach.
You may snap a screenshot on the iPhone 13 by simultaneously pushing the Power and Volume Up buttons.

While you may have previously taken a picture of your phone screen with another phone or an iPad, there is a function built into the iPhone that allows you to do so as well.
Our tutorial below shows not only how to take an iPhone screenshot, but also what your screen will look like after you do it, as well as how to edit the screenshot image that you have captured.

How to Take a Screenshot of Your iPhone 13
The methods in this post were carried out on an iPhone 13 running iOS 16.
Step 1: Arrange the elements you want in the screenshot on the screen.
Step 2: Hit the Power or Side buttons
and press the Volume Up button simultaneously.
When you complete this step correctly, the screen will flash, and a thumbnail of the screenshot will display in the bottom-left corner.
You can either let the thumbnail disappear after a few seconds, swipe it off the screen, or tap it if you want to change the snapshot.
If you access the edit menu shown above, after making your changes, you can hit the Done button at the top-left of the screen and select one of the save or delete options.
You will be able to use this strategy whenever there is something on your screen that you want to save or share with someone else now that you know how to screenshot on iPhone 13.
By default, screenshot photographs captured with your iPhone are kept in the Photos app.
You can find them on the Albums tab in the Recents folder, or you may scroll down and pick the Screenshots folder.
It can be difficult to get the hang of taking screenshots at first, and you may accidentally power off the device or reach the “Slide to Power Off” menu if you keep the buttons down for too long.
Essentially, you must press both buttons simultaneously. You don’t want to confine them for too long. It’s a rapid release.
It’s worth noting that you can also ask Siri to snap a screenshot. Simply say “Siri, take a screenshot,” and she will snap a screenshot of anything that is on your screen.
