How to Turn Off AirPod Notifications on iPhone 13

You are probably used to getting notifications on your iPhone if you’ve had the device for a while.

You can get notifications about new text messages, emails, order updates, and much, much more.

These notifications can be configured by going to the Settings > Notifications menu so that you are only getting notifications for the apps that you actually care about.

But there is another setting concerning notifications that you may need to change too, and it affects how notifications work when you are listening to your AirPods.

You can turn off AirPod notifications on your iPhone by going to Settings > Notifications > Announce Notifications > then tapping the button next to Headphones to turn it off.

When you are listening to your AirPods whether you are working, relaxing, or exercising, you may not have your phone in front of you or in a place where you can comfortably read it.

Your AirPods try and help this situation by reading notifications to you as they come in.

This is called an announcement and is handled as its own separate entity inside of the notification settings.

Our guide below will show you how to shut off AirPod announcements on your iPhone so and provide you with more information on configuring your Airpods settings.

Note that there is also an “Announce Notifications” button at the top of this screen that you can toggle on or off as well. If you never want Siri to announce notifications, then you can choose to turn that off instead. But if you use CarPlay and like that option, then you may want to keep it on.

You can also adjust the notification announcement settings on a per-app basis at the bottom of this screen. For example, you might want to use announcements for text messages, but you may not need them for Instagram or facebook.

More Information on How to Turn off Announcements on AirPods

The steps in our guide above have shown you how to change a setting in the Notifications menu so that Siri stops interrupting your listening experience to read your notifications.

Another notification that you might want to turn off, however, involves the notification that you may see about leaving your Airpods at home or work.

If you have the “Find My” app enabled for your Apple ID and you haven’t changed any settings, then you may be getting a notification that says “Your Airpods Left Behind.”

This is intended to be something to help you realize that you forgot your headphones, but sometimes you might just be leaving that at home or work intentionally.

You can disable this Airpods Left Behind notification by opening the Find My app, choosing the Devices tab, selecting your AirPods, choosing the Notify When Left Behind option, then tapping the button next to “notify When Left Behind” to turn it off.

Finally, if you would like to disable all of your notifications for a while, then you may want to use the Do Not Disturb setting. You can configure this by going to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb > and adjusting the options there. You can also open the Control center (by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen) and tapping the Do Not Disturb button there.

If you would like to adjust any other settings for your Airpod, such as what happens when you tap the left or right earbud, then you can go to Settings > Bluetooth > and tap the i next to your AirPods to see all of the settings that are available for the headphones.
