How to Turn Off Voice When Typing on iPhone 13

Voice control with things like Amazon Alexa and Google Home is something that can really help to improve your life.

But that voice control works best when it’s you talking to your devices, not the other way around.

So when you are trying to send a text message or write an email and your iPhone starts repeating everything you type or speaking corrections that it thinks you might want to make, it can quickly become annoying and something that you need to stop.

You can prevent your iPhone from speaking when you type by going to Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Typing Feedback > and turning off anything on that menu that is currently enabled.

After you have found this menu and disabled anything that was turned on you should be able to type in peace without that unwanted feedback, and without everyone around you being able ot hear what you are typing.

Our article below will show you more about stopping the typing feedback in iOS 15, as well as show you another option that you may want to disable.

More Information on How to Turn Off Voice Input on an iPhone 13

the steps above have shown you how to disable the feature that causes your iPhone to speak everything that you type when sending text messages or emails, or anything that uses the keyboard.

Another related setting that you might like to shut off involves something called voice input.

If you have ever gone to type a text message and accidentally tapped the microphone icon at the corner of the screen, then you inadvertently activated voice input.

While this feature can be pretty interesting, it’s more of an annoyance if you are;t trying to use it.

You can shut off voice input on an iPhone by going to Settings > General > Keyboard > and tapping the button next to Enable Dictation to turn it off.

There are a handful of different options that are shown on the Typing Feedback menu. These include:

  • Character Feedback – Characters
  • Character Feedback – Character Hints
  • Speak Words
  • Speak Auto-text
  • Hold to Speak Predictions

If any of these options are enabled then your iPhone may be speaking to you in certain situations. Unless you specifically need one of these options turned on then you will probably want to disable all of them to make your iPhone stop talking to you as you type.
