More Information on How to See What Apps Have Available Updates on a Google Pixel 4A
The steps above have shown you where to go on your Pixel 4A so that you see the apps on your device that currently have updates available.
However, these app updates are separate from any Android updates that may be available for your Pixel.
You can check for an available Android update by swiping up on your Home screen to open the app menu, then choosing the System option. You can then tap on Advanced, then System update. If there is an update for Android then you will be able to download and install it here.
If you would like your phone to install app updates automatically, then you can enable automatic app updates on the Google Pixel 4A with these steps:
- Touch the Play Store icon.
- Select your profile icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Choose the Network preferences option.
- Touch Auto-update apps.
- Choose one of the options, then tap Done.
The different auto update options that you can pick from are:
- Over any network
- Over Wi-Fi only
- Don’t auto-update apps
Since app updates can be large files occasionally, you may want to restrict these updates to Wi-Fi so that you don’t needlessly use a lot of cellular data. This is especially true if you have a limited amount of data that you can use each month.
Now when updates become available in the Play Store your phone will automatically apply those updates so that you don’t need to worry about doing it yourself.
